My name is Mélodie/Melody, depending on the language we are speaking. Currently, I am a PhD student in French literature based in France. I speak three languages (French, English and Chinese) and am dabbling in two (German and Dutch).
My brain can sometimes be a strange place to be in. Born and raised in China, I find myself much more comfortable in English and French, resulting in funny stories of a TCA (Third-culture adult), as well as the feeling of being estranged to the language and culture of my home country.
Mostly an introvert, I thrive in the company of like-minded people and am quite often described as "talkative". At 28, a childlike sense of wonder still makes my life more magical than it probably is. More often than not, I feel like a mix of Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables) and Jo March (Little Women), with a sprinkle of Emma Woodhouse (Emma).
Here on "Mélodie Know It", I will be sharing whatever my brain has allowed me to create so far.
